What is coaching?

FINDING THE MAGIC

As your coach, I will be fully committed to partnering with your journey toward your best life. Trained in the Co-Active Coaching model, I believe that you are naturally creative, resourceful and whole. We seek a goal of transformation as you find fulfillment, balance and a greater awareness and gratitude for the present moment.

I will be direct and focused on you. I will be committed to your success and champion your unfolding into your best life. At times I will push you out of your comfort zone. Other times I will share intuition and leadings that I have about your process. Other times I will share research and resources from my broader learning and teaching process. From the coaching process, you can expect to see things with new eyes; to move through the world with a heightened sense of awareness about who you are and what is most important to you; and to create the conditions most sufficient for you to experience the fulfillment you seek. I give you the tools to move from “stuck” to freedom, propelling you as far as you are willing to go in achieving your dreams.

I expect that you will come ready to dive in. You will come with topics to discuss. I expect you to come with questions and puzzles but not with answers. And times you will leave our sessions confused, as taking things apart is sometimes needed to gain a new, bigger vision. Some sessions will race by and others will be slower, more careful and be focused on planting seeds that bloom in between our sessions.

You will receive homework from me based on the work that we jointly decide you would like to take on. I will create an accountability structure for you to commit to as you complete these tasks.

HOW IS COACHING DIFFERENT THAN THERAPY?

Coaching is not advice, therapy or counseling. I work off the assumption that you are a mentally healthy person who is seeking a braver, bolder version of your life.We will work on self-exploration and learning new ways to approach life. We are not focused on solving specific problems but instead focus on a bigger version of you. For more information on coaching versus therapy, click here.

Coaching is a very powerful model to elicit change in a person’s behavior. You may find that you choose to focus on specific personal goals, personal growth, business visions, and successes or other situations in your life or profession. In the event that you feel the need for professional psychological counseling or therapy, it is your responsibility to seek a licensed professional.
